NNRP Authentication allows you to connect to the news server by supplying a
username and password to gain access. Not everyone is required to use NNRP
authentication. Read the information below to find out.

Do you require authentication? |

For the most part if you are an Internet America customer, you do NOT need
to make your news reader perform NNRP authentication, though it will still work
if you do.
HOWEVER, if you are trying to access the Internet America news server from a
non-Internet America connection, such as Cable modem or DSL through another
provider, you will HAVE to make your news reader perform NNRP authentication.
This is also the case if you have paid for higher speed access to the Airnews
service, such as Airnews Extra, Airnews Bronze, Airnews DSL, etc.
If you are a PDQ customer, you will HAVE to perform NNRP authentication
no matter what. You will also have to enter your username as
username@ia-pdq instead of just username.
If you are a NeoSoft customer, you must NOT use NNRP authentication. If
you are using a non-NeoSoft connection, you will NOT be able to access the
news server at ALL.
If you are an Airnews ONLY customer, you will HAVE to perform NNRP
authentication (unless you have supplied a static IP when creating your
account). However, if you are connecting to the news server from a different
IP than was supplied when creating your account, you must use NNRP
authentication regardless.
If you DO require NNRP authentication, choose your newsreader below for
