Email Filters in Pegasus

Filters are a great way to automatically handle your incoming or outgoing mail based on certain criteria. They save you the time and effort normally used to sort through your email, especially if you receive a lot of email daily.

Tools Menu
  • Click on the Tools menu, choose Mail filtering rules, choose Edit new mail filtering rules, then choose Rules applied when folder is opened.

    Filters

  • This will bring up a window that lists your current filters. From here you can add to and delete these filters.
  • Click the Add Rule button.

    New Filter

For this example we will choose to match incoming mail which contains the word spam in the subject.
  • In the Type of rule box, select Standard header match.
  • In the This rule triggers when the following text box, type the word spam.
  • In the Appears in any of the following fields in the message box, check Subject.
  • In the Action to Take box, selected Delete.
  • Click the OK button.

    Filters

  • You should now see your new filter in the list.
  • Click the Save button to save your new filter(s).

Pegasus is now setup with your very first filter! As you become more familiar with filters, you can create a filter to do just about anything!
